The athletes we love deserve better than we've given them.
For 25+ years, physical therapist and sports-medicine specialist Gina Pongetti Angeletti has been the person athletes, coaches, and crying parents turn to on the competition floor when something hurts and no one can say why. After thousands of those conversations, she's opening them up to everyone.
The MedGym Podcast is coffee talk with friends, the honest kind, about health in sport: why some athletes thrive while others quietly break down, and what it really takes to keep a body and a mind in the game. Across three pillars, mental, physical, and training, Gina gathers the best physicians, trainers, coaches, and clinicians in gymnastics, dance, and figure skating, plus the athletes who came out the other side whole, telling you how they did it.
The why and the how behind it all, with a sprinkle of humor and a whole lot of heart.
New episodes every other Thursday. One heart, one body, one child at a time.

Gina Pongetti: Welcome to the MedGym Podcast. I'm Gina Pongetti Angeletti, physical therapist, on the mat, sports medicine specialist, and someone who believes the athletes we love deserve better than we've given them. For twenty five plus years I've stood on competition floors, not as an athlete anymore, but as the person athletes, coaches, and crying parents turn to when something hurts and no one can say why. After thousands of those conversations, I kept thinking, I wish the whole world could hear this. So here we are. Consider this our coffee talk with friends, the honest kind. This is a show about health in the sport, the hard stuff most people tiptoe around. While some athletes thrive and others quietly break down, what it really takes to keep a body and a mind in the game. We look at all of it across three pillars mental, physical, and training for the world of gymnastics, dance, figure skating, and everyone living where art meets sport, the science behind the sports we love. Because it takes a village, the best physicians, trainers, coaches, and clinicians in the business. I've gathered them. I happen to call them my friends. And you'll hear from the athletes themselves, the ones who came out of the other side hole. Telling you how they did it. This isn't about fixing the world or fighting over opinions. It's about the why and the how behind it all, with a sprinkle of humor and a whole lot of heart. These athletes deserve better. The artists of the future deserve more. And it starts with all of us. So grab a friend and listen in. Together we can and we will make a difference. One heart, one body, one child at a time. New episodes every other Thursday.
